Along a loop of 4 kilometers on the same route of the pro riders’ time trail. A suggested minimum entrance fee is requested to support the local clubs to take part in the 3 Ride Rwanda stages to come, in order to allow max 25 local riders to join the peloton sharing feed zones, and lunch with the participants. The limited number of tickets available for riding stage 1’ is 200 people.
Ticket Price will be announced soon. All revenue of this stage will go 100% to young developing cyclists in Rwanda.
The ride starts from the Rwanda Cycling Federation HQ at the National Stadium where all participants will gather for the official ride off, the route will be an easy ride towards the east of Rwanda (considered as the flat land of Rwanda) the destination will be the city of Rwamagana, the cycling home capital although with. This is where cycling is born, and it is evident with the hundreds of bicycle taxis. This Place has produced some of Rwanda’s international cyclists that have won the Tour du Rwanda.
Strongest riders will follow the full route of the pros that first tackles some of the hills around Kigali before turning East.
Musanze is Rwanda's most mountainous district, containing the largest part of the Volcanoes National Park. It is also where The National Cycling Team uses to train, and a gateway to the cycling family in Africa. Starting from here we embark on a ride towards the West, chasing the winds towards Lake Kivu while enjoying superb views of tea plantations cozily curling and waving up the hills along the way. We enter the city of Rubavu and end the stage at the public beach full ambiance.
The Kivu Belt is a sustainable adventure and eco-tourism destination. The main objective to finish the ride in the area is to support a sustainable economic development and the job creation chain. This is achieved through conservation, restoration and sustainable use of eco systems for tourism, inclusion of communities in the tourism economy, promotion of sustainable travel to the destination, sector development and coordination of actors and their activities.
